IRONMAN – Man Truck & Bus Partnership

IRONMAN, a Wanda Sports Holdings company, announced an exciting partnership with MAN Truck & Bus AG in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with the logistics service provider now responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of IRONMAN goods and materials to events in over 10 countries.

The agreement will run through 2019 and has been officially announced at the same time as MAN unveiled their new MAN XLION truck at the IAA Hannover – Europe’s leading exhibition for commercial vehicles.

“The values of both brands are perfectly suited to each other: reliability, robustness, efficiency, top-performance and innovation,” said Bjoern Loose, Senior Vice President MAN Truck & Bus AG, Marketing and Brand.

“We aim to make our customers’ business easier, more efficient and thus more successful. Our customers have demanding and challenging daily requirements and we have the perfect solution for these extreme requirements. We underline this perfect symbiosis with our special edition MAN XLION. The X in the name of this powerful truck stands for “extreme”. This is the link between MAN and the extreme athletic performance of an IRONMAN triathlete. This special edition includes tailored equipment packages for each segment – whether Long Haul, Traction or Distribution. We are very pleased to be supporting the events throughout EMEA as the Official Supplier,” he added.

“We are always looking for partnerships with brands that share the same ethos and values that we have at IRONMAN, and I’m delighted to say that is certainly the case with MAN,” said Peter Gallagher, IRONMAN Global Partnerships VP, EMEA.

“For our athletes, it’s all about endurance, high performance and achieving what they had set out to do when they started their IRONMAN journey. We recognize similar traits in the MAN brand and we look forward to working closely with them during the partnership,” he added.

MAN will provide the logistics solution for the first time at IRONMAN 70.3 Marbella.

Anything is possible.
