GERA BERTOLONE, the singer, composer and producer based in Paris, nicknamed «the Sicilian Kate Bush» (Deliri Progressivi), announces the release of ABBALLATI its new single for SEPTEMBER 6, 2024.

ABBALLATI is an invitation to dance. Gera Bertolone calls all women to emancipation and freedom. It’s a hymn inspired by liberating ritual dances, mixing hypnotic cello loops, saturated guitar riffs and mesmerizing rhythms. “Abballati” means «Let’s dance!».

Excerpt of the lyrics : “And if you don’t hear anything / Dance with your mind / Because the heart beats stronger / And is not afraid of fate.”

Commenting on the music video directed by Jean-Philippe Perrot, Gera explained, «It’s a dance like a fight, a liberating run in an obscure and oppressive environment. It’s an indefinite place where all the fights can take place.  We don’t know if this woman is on a dance floor or in the street. She is alone in struggling like many women in the world. And dance is for her an outlet, synonymous with freedom.»

ABBALLATI is the first extract of FEMMINA, Gera Bertolone’s second album that will be released on October 18th on Sonora Recordings and via Absilone Distribution. It’s a rock-based and eminently personal opus. 11 powerful songs born of hopes and desires. «I am talking about the incredible will of women, their energy to break down the eternal barriers and always of freedoms, those to defend and those to conquer». Gera Bertolone also explores the reminiscences of his Sicilian childhood, diving into the heart of the mountainous landscapes of his native land. She reveals an electric universe where meld telluric energies and timeless melodies.
